Our story
A craft as old as the temple
Khiching was the capital of the Bhanja kings, and Maa Kichakeswari was their family goddess. Her temple is built of black chlorite stone.
In the neighbouring village of Keshana, families still carve that black stone by hand. Every KichiShila idol comes from their workshops, with the workshop named on its certificate of origin.
